This prestigious title is the culmination of a long family history, marked by a love for cheese and traditional fondue. Since childhood, André developed a refined taste by accompanying his father to cheese dairies. Each cheese is a discovery, unique in its texture and character.
For André, fondue is comparable to a wine blend orchestrated by an oenologist: each ingredient is carefully selected to offer a perfect harmony of flavors. "Fondue is much more than a tradition; it's a moment of sharing," he says.
With over 50 years of experience in cheese selection and creating exceptional fondues, André participated in the Mondial de Fondue thanks to his children, who secretly registered him. For this unique event, he selected cheeses from Fribourg producers, continuing a family tradition of quality. His recipe featured 8 exceptional cheeses, including Vacherins Fribourgeois AOP and Gruyères AOP.
Out of 180 participants, André impressed the professional jury, chaired by renowned chef Philippe Chevrier, and was crowned world champion thanks to his subtle and expertly balanced blend.
